Frommenwiler ready for ADAC GT Masters: Strong performance in preseason testing

Young racing driver Philipp Frommenwiler has notched up a major success even before the official start of the ADAC GT Masters season. In March, the 24-year-old took part in the Engadine Ski Marathon, raising sponsorship money in the process. Frommenwiler collected a total of around 5,000 francs (some 4,000 euros) which he subsequently donated to charity at the weekend. In addition, the Swiss driver completed testing for the new ADAC GT Masters season and is now ready for the season opener in Oschersleben (April 25th-27th).

Philipp Frommenwiler invited 50 sponsors, partners and friends to Zurich last weekend. The Porsche driver presented his programme for the upcoming season and also reviewed the Engadine Ski Marathon. Following on from the winter sports spectacular, he donated 1,666 Swiss francs to each of these charities: die Sternschnuppen (Wish upon a Star charity), the Sean Edwards Foundation and Kreuzlingen Zoo. The Swiss driver is particularly keen on the die Sternschnuppen project that supports seriously ill children and their families by granting children´s wishes. I have the greatest respect for this voluntary work and wanted to do my bit," said Frommenwiler.

Immediately after his personal season opener in Zurich, the racing driver travelled on to Oschersleben where he carried out initial testing for the ADAC GT Masters motor racing season along with Farnbacher Racing. "It felt good to finally be back in Europe after the start of the season in America," said Frommenwiler, who straightaway repeated his performance from the previous year in the Porsche 911 GT3 R. He also had the first opportunity to work with his new team-mates in Oschersleben. This year, he will partner 2012 ADAC GT Masters champion Sebastian Asch. Initial testing ended well for the newly formed duo: Frommenwiler posted the fastest lap time in the second test session, whilst Asch set best time overall in testing in the third stint.

Philipp Frommenwiler will return to Oschersleben in about two weeks´ time for the 2014 ADAC GT Masters season opener at the circuit near Magdeburg. He can hardly wait: "This track has always been good to me. I feel great after the first tests and am very optimistic. We achieved a podium here last year, and of course, we aim to do it again!"
