Heinz-Harald Frentzen is about to make his ADAC GT Masters comeback. With the return of 1997 Formula 1 World Championship runner-up, the Super Sports Cars League has a truly high-profile name to delight the fans. Having got his first taste of ADAC GT Masters competition as a 'driving instructor' to ski jumping legend Sven Hanna in the cockpit of a Corvette three years ago, this exceptional driver is keen to undertake a serious campaign after a run of bad luck in 2012. "I think it's great that Heinz-Harald is coming back and that we can continue our partnership," says Jürgen Juchner, Director of Buchbinder Rent-A-Car which is sponsoring the return of HHF (as he is affectionately known).

Frentzen is one of Germany's most successful drivers ever, having finished second in the 1997 Formula 1 World Championship and third two years later. The ex-Formula 1 and DTM pro has taken on an interesting role at HTP Motorsport, mentoring junior members of the squad and making an input into the further development of the vehicle.

The man behind HHF's comeback is Sports Manager Axel Watter: "HH is one of the most brilliant drivers that Germany has ever had and he simply belongs in a racing car." This will be the third season (though not consecutive) in which the man from Mönchengladbach has competed in the ADAC sports car racing series and his first in the Buchbinder Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 entered by H.T.P.

"This series has become really well established in Germany," says Frentzen. "The races are hard to beat in terms of excitement and drama. I'm looking forward to the season opener at Oschersleben."

The Saarland-based H.T.P. Motorsport outfit have been contesting the ADAC GT Masters since 2011 and are happy to stick with their reliable Mercedes-Benz. "I am very pleased to have a man like Heinz-Harald on board," says H.T.P. team boss Norbert Brückner. "I not only rate him highly as a racing driver but also like him very much as a person. Last year, we narrowly missed out on the ADAC GT Masters title on the final stretch." Norbert Brückner, whose claim to fame includes discovering and promoting record DTM championship winner Bernd Schneider, has been managing the HTP team since 2013. He has many years' experience of scouting and developing young driver talent in the karting, formula and touring car arenas. Brückner believes he will have a winning combination in the experience provided by Frentzen and the natural talent of the young drivers in the H.T.P. squad.
