The first day of the official pre-season ADAC GT Masters tests at the etropolis Motorsport Arena in Oschersleben ended with Sebastian Asch and Philipp Frommenwiler topping the timesheets in their Farnbacher Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R. Asch recorded a lap time of 1:27.195 minutes in the third of three sessions to make him the fastest man on the day.
Co-driver Frommenwiler had already set the fastest time in Session 2 earlier in the afternoon. "Our Porsche was absolutely brilliant today," said a delighted Frommenwiler. "The temperatures here at Oschersleben helped us a lot. Our YOKOHAMA tyres worked perfectly in the prevailing temperature window."
The second-fastest time on Tuesday was set by a youngster: ADAC GT Masters newcomer Kelvin van der Linde driving an Audi R8 LMS ultra that he shares with René Rast displayed impressive form in the third and fastest session of the day, finishing just 0.162 seconds behind the leaders.
Reigning ADAC GT Masters champion Daniel Keilwitz together with Andreas Wirth and Oliver Gavin also improved their lap time in Tuesday's late afternoon session. The Corvette crew posted a time of 1:27.741 minutes, which placed them third ahead of the second Prosperia C Abt Audi R8 LMS ultra, also with three different drivers taking turns: Fabian Hamprecht, Nicki Thiim and Markus Winkelhock.
Fifth and sixth places went to the two BMW Z4 GT3s fielded by Pixum Team Schubert. Dominik Baumann and Claudia Hürtgen posted the fifth-fastest lap of the day (1:28.048 minutes) in the second session, marginally ahead of their Pixum team-mates Max Sandritter and Jens Klingmann on 1:28.129.
The official ADAC GT Masters pre-season tests run for two more sessions on Wednesday.
