Reiter Engineering completed a first test with the new Lamborghini Gallardo R-EX at the end of last week just before the Christmas break. The Lamborghini outfit tested the new ultra-wide version of the Gallardo for the first time on the Adria Raceway in Italy. The Lamborghini Gallardo R-EX will race in 2015. Reiter Engineering's R-EX is the fourth and final version of the car built for the GT3 class based on the last generation of the Gallardo. The Lamborghini developed and built by Reiter Engineering is one of the most successful sports cars in the ADAC GT Masters.
The R-EX - EX stands for extenso - has grown considerably in width. New wishbones on the Lamborghini have led to an increase in track width to 2050 mm, up by 13 cm. The rear aluminium side panels have in turn been replaced with bodywork made of carbon fibre.
Reiter have not left the V10 engine unchanged either. An improved torque curve is achieved through the use of race camshafts. At the same time, new Mahle pistons have reduced fuel consumption and increased reliability.
