ADAC GT Masters·8.3.2014

Second season for Frommenwiler with Farnbacher: Philipp Frommenwiler to continue at Farnbacher Racing

With around two months to go before the start of the ADAC GT Masters season, Philipp Frommenwiler can relax a little as plans for his second ADAC GT Masters season have been finally settled. Originally from Kreuzlingen, the Swiss driver will continue with Farnbacher Racing in a Porsche 911 GT3 R but has a new team-mate, namely, 2012 ADAC GT Masters champion Sebastian Asch.

"I'm glad we were able to come to an agreement with Farnbacher Racing at this stage, because now I can fully devote myself to pre-season preparations," said Frommenwiler. The 24-year-old hopes to build on his success from last year along with the experienced team. In 2013, Frommenwiler was best rookie in the ADAC GT Masters and aims to fight for victories in 2014: "Things are on a really professional footing at Farnbacher Racing and at the same time very friendly. It's quite unique."

Frommenwiler will now have Asch at his side, who is an experienced Super Sports Car League driver. Frommenwiler: "I'm really looking forward to working with Asch. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank last year's team-mate, Mario Farnbacher. He has other commitments this year and is consequently unable to put in a full season in the GT Masters."

The Swiss driver is bracing himself for another highlight before he and Asch start the 16-race ADAC GT Masters season that kicks off in the etropolis Motorsport Arena Oschersleben (April 25th-27th). This coming weekend, the Porsche specialist will warm up in a Porsche 911 GT America at the 12 Hours of Sebring in Florida/USA: "Testing was very promising. The circuit is located on a former airfield and is full of humps and bumps. It really gives you a good shaking up and is a huge challenge in the 30-degree heat."
