Spengler and Sharp in MRS McLaren: The McLaren of MRS GT-Racing returns to the ADAC GT Masters after a one-year absence

MRS GT-Racing embark on their 2014 campaign this weekend. After a one-year absence, the Lonsee-based outfit are back in the ADAC GT Masters with their McLaren MP4-12C GT3 and are raring to go at Oschersleben.

The only team fielding a McLaren in the Super Sports Car League has prepared for the season opener with extensive testing and is hoping to build on the achievements of the past with this year´s driver line-up.

Sharing the cockpit will be Germany´s Florian Spengler and Scotland´s Ryan Sharp. Florian Spengler has already contested the ADAC GT Masters once before in a BMW ALPINA in the 2012 season and is now returning after a sabbatical in the Porsche Carrera Cup. His partner is Ryan Sharp, a former runner-up in the FIA GT Championship. After several years as team manager, he has now decided to get back behind the wheel.

Karsten Molitor, Team Principal at MRS GT Racing: "After all the testing, we just can´t wait to get going. The McLaren has improved even further in its latest specification – it´s much easier to drive and has become tremendously reliable. With our driver line-up, we are well set up, and I think that we will soon be rewarded with deserved success. Although Oschersleben with its twisty layout is not necessarily the ideal circuit for our McLaren, which is a car designed for top speed, we still expect to be up with the front-runners."
