TONINO Herberth in hunt for Gentlemen title: Porsche team to deploy three Porsche 911 GT3 Rs in ADAC GT Masters

The new ADAC GT Masters season starts for TONINO Team Herberth with official testing at Oschersleben. The Porsche team will utilise three Porsche 911 GT3 Rs in the Super Sports Car League in 2014, and two 911s prepared by last year's runners-up will contest the title in the Gentlemen category. The team from Bavaria will focus on winning the Gentlemen ranking with the help of three formidable new additions.

Dominic Jöst and Florian Scholze face a major challenge in 2014. The two racing drivers are making the switch from the Porsche Carrera Cup to the Dream Sports Car League and will take turns behind the wheel of the 911 for TONINO Team Herberth. "I'm really looking forward to my ADAC GT Masters debut. The series is exciting and gaining in popularity," said Jöst. The German finished second in the amateur class in last season's Carrera Cup, a success that the 35-year-old is keen to repeat in 2014: "We aim to secure podiums and victories in our class. We also intend to be in title contention."

He will be ably supported by Florian Scholze. For many years, the Bavarian has enjoyed success with Porsche, and the 40-year-old amateur was regularly a thorn in the side of pro drivers in the Porsche Carrera Cup. He is no stranger to the ADAC GT Masters either and had his last outing in the series in 2010, racing a 911. "It's great to be back in the ADAC GT Masters. I'm really looking forward to working with my new team. Everything is so familiar," said Scholze.

Alfred Renauer and Herbert Handlos will share the drive in the second Porsche 911 GT3 R. The Austrian was runner-up in the Porsche in last year's Alpine Cup. Team-mate Alfred Renauer needs no convincing of the amateur's capabilities: "He can take his time to get used to everything at the test sessions in Oschersleben, and then I expect to see great progress as the season advances."
