Germany's two most popular race series will join forces to stage a new highlight on the motor racing calendar in 2016. The ADAC GT Masters and the DTM will line up together at the Lausitzring June 3rd-5th. The Super Sports Car League and the most popular international touring car series will appear together at a race weekend for the first time since 2008. The ADAC Formula 4 series will complete the motor racing highlight.
"The joint weekend with the ADAC GT Masters and the DTM will constitute a high-point on the motor racing calendar next year. It's great that we are able to put on a motorsport festival for fans together with the ITR and at the same time show the world what German motorsport has to offer," said ADAC Sports President Hermann Tomczyk with reference to the joint event at the Lausitzring."
"We are pleased that we have managed to get the DTM and the ADAC GT Masters on the same bill. It shows once again that we can put on a spectacular event together, one that everyone in German motorsport can look forward to," said Hans-Werner Aufrecht, Chairman of ITR e.V., the DTM rights holder and promoter.
The remaining dates on the ADAC GT Masters 2016 calendar are to be announced soon. SPORT1 will broadcast all the ADAC GT Masters races next year live and in full on free-to-air TV. Germany's leading sports broadcaster extended the TV contract up to and including 2017 before it was due for renewal.
