ADAC GT Masters·5.6.2015

ADAC GT Masters: Comments after qualifying: What the drivers said after qualifying at the Red Bull Ring.

Philipp Eng (#36 GW IT Racing Team Schütz Motorsport, Porsche 911 GT3 R), pole position Race 1: "Just a perfect qualifying. I went out on the track at exactly the right moment, with no-one else ahead of me, and I had the perfect car. That's how you win pole! I last drove a GT3 Porsche three or four years ago but had no problems getting used to the car again."

Tomas Enge (#25 Reiter Engineering, Lamborghini Gallardo R-EX), pole position Race 2: "This pole is an achievement by the entire team. While I was testing here two weeks ago, I had a major spin with the car. The team has put in ten days of non-stop work to enable us to compete here. I am very proud that, after a long lean spell, we have been able to prove that the Gallardo can still hold its own in such a competitive series as the ADAC GT Masters."

Klaus Bachler (#36 GW IT Racing Team Schütz Motorsport, Porsche 911 GT3 R), P7, Race 2: "That was by no means perfect, but in the circumstances, I am satisfied. The starting position we have for the two races aren't bad, so a big thank-you to the team. The front suspension broke after I went over the kerbs too hard in the second free practice. In the short time before qualifying, the crew managed to completely repair the Porsche."

Andreas Wirth (#66 Callaway Competition, Corvette Z06.R GT3): P4, Race 1: "My qualifying was OK, so now we have to see what the race brings. It's possible to achieve something from grid positions on the second and the first row."

Edward Sandström (#100 kfzteile24 MS RACING, Audi R8 LMS ultra): P13, Race 2: "I suppose I could have gone about two-tenths faster. I never got the first two corners quite right on my fastest laps; otherwise we might have made it into the Top Ten. We're not too far adrift, but the gaps here are extremely small anyway."

Nicki Thiim (#2 C.Abt Racing, Audi R8 LMS ultra): "We expected things to be difficult for us this weekend, and that's exactly the way it has turned out. So for me, qualifying didn't come as a big surprise."

Dominic Jöst (#22 MRS GT, Racing, Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3), P2, Race 1: "It's very annoying to miss out on pole here by only 0.019 seconds. For the whole of today, we've been having electrical problems that have led to engine misfires and mistiming. That's what happened to me on my fastest lap, which cost us the pole."

Florian Strauss (#23 MRS GT, Racing, Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3), P3, Race 2: "After the day got off to a difficult start and we had trouble with the electronics, this third place on the grid counts as a happy ending. If we had got more laps in during free practice, we might have been in with a chance of pole."

Andreas Simonsen (#42 HP Racing, Mercedes, Benz SLS AMG GT3), P15, Race 2: "We have a small problem with the engine and weren't getting full power in qualifying, so now we need to find out where the problem lies. When I compare the results from free practice and qualifying, some of our opponents were obviously holding something back."

Marc Gassner: (#23 MRS GT, Racing, Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3), P7, Race 1: "We were having problems in free practice. I was plodding round the track at 70kph. But when qualifying came round, I drove some proper lap times and it all went well right away."
