ADAC GT Masters: Comments after the race: Observations from the paddock following both races at Zandvoort

Dominik Baumann (#80 BMW Sports Trophy Team Schubert, BMW Z4 GT3), winner: "I already had a strong suspicion that Enge's manoeuvre would result in a penalty. We're pleased about the win, because it certainly wasn't handed to us on a plate and I think we deserved it. It's a step in the right direction ahead of Hockenheim. But now the pressure is really on. I feel sorry for Tomas and Jaap, because we would have preferred to win it on the track. But rules are rules."

Jens Klingmann (#80 BMW Sports Trophy Team Schubert, BMW Z4 GT3), winner: "Right from the start of my stint, I had a good feeling, and I succeeded in putting distance between myself and the Lamborghini of Albert von Thurn und Taxis. Then the safety car was deployed, but I still managed to pull out a gap on the restart. We improved strongly compared with yesterday. It was important to score points here, because Hockenheim will be another tough fight. Our target has to be finishing the season at least as championship runners-up."

Albert von Thurn und Taxis (#25 Reiter Engineering, Lamborghini Gallardo R-EX), second: "I was lacking race pace for most of the weekend. I couldn't seem to get going here, and success in sporting terms was proving elusive. Even so, I had great expectations for today's race. The pressure in the second stint was manageable, but I still broke out into a sweat. We partly came here with the intention of trying a few things out. The fact that we also got a podium out of the weekend is a bonus."

Luca Ludwig (#21 Team Zakspeed, Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3), P11: "The manoeuvre by Daniel Keilwitz was incredible. He drove into me several times, which is not what you expect from a former champion. That was very unsporting. Over the full weekend, we've scored valuable points and further extended our lead. That puts us in a positive state of mind ahead of Hockenheim."

Daniel Keilwitz (#66 Callaway Competition, Corvette Z06.R GT3), DNF: "I was clearly faster than Luca Ludwig, but he was constantly blocking me. The mere fact that he's a contender for the title doesn't mean I'm not allowed to overtake him. After all, we're racing cars out there. After the first manoeuvre, I had to drop back, and that was OK. Then I made another attempt and was successful."

Andreas Weishaupt (#3 C.Abt Racing, Audi R8 LMS ultra), winner in Gentlemen class: "The tyres were degrading badly towards the end of the race. I haven't had much experience in that sort of situation, so I tried my best to drive with maximum caution. But only one thing matters this weekend - we've drawn level with the leaders. We need to forget about everything else."

Remo Lips (#13 RWT Racing Team, Corvette Z06.R GT3), second in Gentlemen class: "I was simply too slow this weekend. My main objective was to overtake Andreas Weishaupt. That worked out well, and then I was able to put some distance between us. Unfortunately, I spun off track on the penultimate lap and the engine wouldn't restart."

Daniel Dobitsch (#100 kfzteile24 MS RACING, Audi R8 LMS ultra), P6: "I had overtaken Stefan Wackerbauer and was up to fifth, but then the race stewards instructed me to give the place back. I spoke to Stefan afterwards, and he said the manoeuvre was OK. Maybe the stewards shouldn't be so harsh in such circumstances."

Clemens Schmid (#8 Bentley Team HTP, Bentley Continental GT3), P12: "We were pushed out of the way by the number 100 Audi both yesterday and today. Unfortunately, this didn't result in a penalty for the Audi on either occasion. I feel quite annoyed about this."
