Baumann and Klingmann continue to dominate : BMW top the timesheets again as Audi put in a strong showing

Dominik Baumann and Jens Klingmann in their BMW Sports Trophy Team Schubert Z4 GT3 continue to set the pace on the penultimate weekend of the 2015 ADAC GT Masters at Zandvoort. In the afternoon session, the BMW duo again topped the timesheets but with a lap time of 01:39.339 minutes that was 0.2 seconds slower than in the morning. The Audis likewise reaffirmed their solid performance from FP1. The session was red-flagged five minutes before the end following an off-track excursion by Florian Scholze in his Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 (MRS GT Racing), which did not leave enough time for a restart. Scholze, who currently leads the Gentlemen standings, crashed into the tyre wall at Turn 14.

The leading BMW was followed up by the two C.Abt Racing Audi R8 LMS ultras of Stefan Wackerbauer / Kelvin van der Linde and Andreas Weishaupt / Christer Jöns, with yet another Audi driven by Florian Stoll / Marc Basseng (kfzteile24 MS RACING) in fourth place. The strong showing by the V10 mid-engine sports car was further confirmed by the three other Audis in the field, which finished the session in P7, P8 and P9 respectively: Rahel Frey / Philip Geipel (YACO Racing), Daniel Dobitsch / Edward Sandström (kfzteile24 MS RACING) and Jordan Lee Pepper / Nicki Thiim (C.Abt Racing).

Championship leaders Sebastian Asch and Luca Ludwig in the Team Zakspeed Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 came sixth behind the Bentley Team HTP Continental GT3 driven by Luca Stolz und series newcomer Tom Dillmann. The second gullwing in the ADAC GT Masters line-up driven by Hari Proczyk and record DTM championship winner Bernd Schneider (HP Racing) rounded off the Top Ten.
