The test outing last year in the Hockenheim finale has whetted the appetite for more. Saarland-based Dupré Engineering Motorsport got their first taste of the ADAC GT Masters at the 2014 season finale and have now decided to contest their first full season in the ADAC GT Masters. Dupré have already booked their place in the Super Sports Car League before the closing date for entries and will deploy a 550-bhp Audi R8. The outfit led by Christoph Dupré is now in its second generation and has been active in motor racing for almost 50 years. The team used to line up 20 years ago in the ADAC GT Cup, the predecessor to the ADAC GT Masters.
Team boss Dupré, who joined forces with Thomas Schöffler to race the Audi R8 last year at Hockenheim, intends to concentrate on his role on the pit wall this year. "We really enjoyed the try-out in Hockenheim and have therefore decided to join the ADAC GT Masters this year. Negotiations with potential drivers are currently underway. We plan to sign a junior in tandem with a former DTM driver and hope that goes well."
In addition, the team are working on the deployment of a second Audi in the ADAC GT Masters: "Our preference would be to have two Audi R8s in the line-up. We've already taken on a junior. However, we still need a second driver and a bit more support from sponsors in order to realise our goal. Establishing ourselves in the ADAC GT Masters is obviously our main objective."
