First class win for Senkyr Motorsport: Maiden Gentlemen class win for Senkyr Motorsport

Seven races... this is what it took for Jakub Knoll, Lennart Marioneck and Senkyr Motorsport to gain their first class win in ADAC GT Masters Gentlemen class. "Today's race had everything. Drama, safety car phase, even red flag and overtaking to the last lap. Everything in hot temperatures. But our drivers dealt with it very well and we could listen to the Czech anthem," said happy team boss Robert Senkyr. Drivers of Senkyr Motorsport gained another good result in Sunday's race when they finished second.

"We had big expectations for the race 2 after we've tried a different set-up in the morning's warm-up and found a few tenths. Lenny had a great start and overtook five. But he was pushed out of the track in the second turn. One of the hood's protections released probably at that time and Lenny had to pit. It was very quick stop but we lost about 40 seconds and also the possibility to repeat Saturday's result. But boys didn't give up and were classified on the second place in Gentlemen class and 13th place overall. Lenny could even achieve the race fastest 2nd sector. We were also little bit lucky with the result in race 2 after problems of other cars but this is motorsport. It was a positive and successful weekend for us," added Senkyr.

"First four weekends showed us how big the quality in European GT sport is. We knew that our first season in ADAC GT Masters wouldn't be easy and we are very happy about our results. We are also evaluating the possibility of the second BMW Z4 GT3. Everything is developing in a good way now. We plan to do few tests and also maybe race or two races in FIA CEZ championship before the second half of the season starts," Senkyr says.

Driver quotes:

Jakub Knoll: "The second race was a bit unlucky for us because we had to pit in early stages of the race to fix a mechanical problem. On the other hand our car was incredibly quick today. The team did a great job."

Lennart Marioneck: "We had little technical difficulties in the early stages of Sunday's race bit I think it was unnecessary from race control to give us the black and orange flag to go the pits. The hood came up a little bit but it wasn't danger so it was really unnecessary situation because of it we lost a lot of time. But I'm happy that we are fasters and faster and it's really promising for the next races."
