Lausitzring has not a long history compared to other European race tracks. But in only 15 years, it gained big respect from drivers. Lausitzring is a unique track, which uses parts of an American style Tri-Oval and with a length of 3,4 km, the shortest track on the calendar. "We will be on Lausitzring with our usual race crew Jakub Knoll and Lennart Marioneck. Lausitzring is a track which could suit our BMW well so I hope it will be that way," said team boss Robert Senkyr before leaving Czech Republic.
"Lausitzring is a very attractive racetrack. Lausitzring as well as Sachsenring is very close to the Czech border so we expect to see some Czech flags. We are more and more experienced with every race, which is very positive on our drivers and also on whole team. ADAC GT is great series so we are weighing up that we can race second BMW on some other event. If it will be true we will find out but I’m very optimistic in that way," added Senkyr.
What the drivers say:
Jakub Knoll: "First of all I am delighted that I will be after few weeks back in the cockpit of BMW Z4 GT3. Lausitzring should be good track for our BMW so I hope that we will take the advantage of that. I have already raced at this track but it was long time ago back in 2006. I remember that I liked the Lausitzring and hopefully everything will go in better way than at Red Bull Ring."
Lennart Marioneck: "I can’t say that this track really suits me but I was successful here in past so I’m looking forward. I know that Schubert Motorsport got some good results there in the last year with BMW so I think that our car could be very competitive. Weather forecast says that it should be hot which really suits BMW cars with its tyres. I believe we will have good race weekend."
