ADAC GT Masters·24.4.2015

GW IT Racing/Schuetz: Success through consistency: Porsche team about to start fourth season in the ADAC GT Masters.

The current situation at GW IT Racing Team Schuetz Motorsport is reminiscent of their beginnings in the ADAC GT Masters back in 2012. The team were absolute underdogs even back then, but the Porsche outfit with drivers Christian Engelhart and Nick Tandy secured their maiden victory in the second race at the first race weekend four years ago in Oschersleben. Now as before, the car bears start number 36, and Christian Engelhart is again at the wheel for Geyer & Weinig Racing Team Schuetz Motorsport.

In view of that, the new ADAC GT Masters season 2015 is being approached with confidence. After the long winter break, everyone in the team is pleased to be under way again, looking forward to another promising, exciting, nerve-wracking season. And the goal is to build on last year's results when the team placed second in the championship. So this year, the title win represents the only way forwards.

However, to achieve that, GW IT Racing Team Schuetz Motorsport will rely on tried and tested methods and familiar faces in the team. "We felt it was important not to change too much," said team principal Christian Schütz. "Our team therefore remains the same as for the last race of last season. Christian Engelhart will still drive the pro car. This will be our fourth joint season together in the ADAC GT Masters."

23-year-old Austrian Klaus Bachler will partner him. The former Porsche junior contested the Carrera Cup in recent years and was impressive in the 24-Hours of Le Mans in 2014.

Schütz: "We have the services of two out-and-out Porsche specialists in Christian and Klaus. Christian will also line up in the Carrera Cup and Super Cup. Klaus still competes in the FIA WEC in a 911 RSR." Greek driver Anton Wossos will again take his place in the second vehicle. The 48-year-old will fight for points in the Gentlemen standings. However, concerns about his health prevented participation in pre-season preparations and he will therefore not be in the line-up at Oschersleben but make his debut at the Red Bull Ring. "In this instance, we will use the new regulations that allow one strike result per season," said team principal Schütz.

As regards sponsors too, almost all of last year's partners have remained loyal to the team. Geyer and Weinig IT management consultants, GW IT quality assurance specialists, Rowe engine oil and Paul Parey publishing will sponsor the team once again during the 2015 season, while ZIMspeed, MUS body and paint shop, the Promofolia foil wrapping team and Staloc will also ensure that vehicles shine on and off the track. The car, the 997 GT 3R, will be the same one that was used last year.
