- Daniel Keilwitz appeared on TV in ZDF's television garden where the 2013 ADAC GT Masters champion took the wheel of a new Corvette Z06 in a record breaking attempt.

- Luca Ludwig was also at Spa with Zakspeed team boss Peter Zakowski but as a spectator. Ludwig spent a few days holidaying on the coast before heading to the circuit.

- Joint leader in the points Sebastian Asch meanwhile was back in the cockpit but swapped his usual gullwing for a Porsche 911 RSR. Asch lined up at the Red Bull Ring for Team Porsche Proton in the European Le Mans Series.

- Kelvin van der Linde, who has been based in Kempten since the spring, took advantage of the summer break to return home. The reigning champion jetted off to South Africa straight after the race at the Lausitzring.

- HP Racing also tackled a 24-hour race during the summer break. Hari Proczyk's team lined up at the 24-Hours of Le Castellet in southern France along with a number of drivers, including former ADAC GT Masters competitor Carsten Tilke, and finished third in a Mercedes SLS AMG GT3.

- Jeroen Bleekemolen's trip was more exotic. The Bentley pilot lined up in the 1,000km of Palanga in Lithuania in a Porsche and was then back racing in a Dodge Viper the following weekend in the United States.

- Sven Barth is now available on your smartphone. The Corvette driver has released an app in the Apple App Store and on Google Play for free download on iOS and Android phones.

- There's no doubt about who collected the most stars for working hard this summer - Rahel Frey. The Swiss lady driver took part in the media launch of the new Audi R8 in Portimão in Portugal and then headed to the famous Freier Fall downhill ski run in St Moritz where she met ski racer Marc Berthod. Next, it was off to the Audi St Moritz ski champions' golf get-together in front of the Quattro bar in Corviglia before lining up this weekend for a guest start in the Audi TT Cup at the Red Bull Ring.

- Frey's fellow Audi driver Christer Jöns trained his reflexes slot car racing, operating the controller of the new Audi R8 LMS during an event organised at Bilster Berg as part of the RCCO slot car series.
