Senkyr adds Palttala for Sachsenring: Markus Palttala to race BMW of Czech Team at Sachsenring

Czech team Senkyr Motorsport is going to the next ADAC GT Masters race at Sachsenring after an successful weekend of FIA CEZ championship at Slovakiaring only few days ago. It was tough decision who is going to replace Jakub Knoll who planned to do only five race weekends this year.

"I´m really glad that I can finally say that all the negotiations were successfully finished. We knew that Jakub isn´t going to race at Sachsenring before the season has started and we wanted to replace him with another Czech driver. But there were an great opportunity to start the co-operation with one of the best BMW drivers of the last seasons – Markus Palttala. I think it´s not necessary to introduce him. He is a stable driver of Belgian team Marc VDS and has a lot of top results this year including the 24h of Spa Franchorchamps win," said team boss Robert Senkyr.

Markus Palttala comes from Finnish town of Nakkila and he has a number of races in prestigious championships. For example Porsche Carrera Cup, FIA GT, FIA GT1 World, FIA GT3 and Blancpain Endurance Series. Ha has also raced in European Le Mans Series from 2005 to 2010 and he is part of the Turner Motorsport in United SportsCar Championship from 2014. He has also received a BMW Sports Trophy in 2014 which BMW gives its best driver of the year.

"Sachsenring is almost like a home race for us. We know this track very well because we organize a lot of trackdays and drift trainings for our customers there and we know that this track will suit our BMW well. I believe that we have with Markus and Lennart a very strong line up. We´ll do our best to come to TOP10 this weekend," added Senkyr.

Markus Palttala: "Of course, every time I sit in a race car, I want to win. However, it´s hard to set targets because I´m stepping into unknown, but I´ll do my best to help the team take a step towards the top. If we have a clean weekend, I think we should have a chance to challenge the big teams and score good points!"

Lennart Marioneck: "I'm really looking forward to Sachsenring because I like the track and this track also suits our car well. Also it will be my first time with real pro driver in the same car. Markus took this year's win at Spa 24h so he will be really good with our BMW. I'm looking forward to score some points with him. I'm very excited."
