ADAC GT Masters·24.4.2015

Strong comeback by Nissan in the ADAC GT Masters: The 2015 ADAC GT Masters season is officially open.

Nissan made an impressive comeback in the ADAC GT Masters. The two Nissan GT-R NISMOs prepared and updated for 2015 by GT3 MRS GT-Racing finished first and third in the first free practice session of 2015 at the season opener in the etropolis Motorsport Arena Oschersleben. Best time of 1: 27.427 minutes went surprisingly to Dominic and Florian Scholze Jöst. Apart from the Nissan, another newcomer placed at the front of the field in first practice: Hari Proczyk and Andreas Simonsen in the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG HP Racing were barely 0.067 seconds behind the Nissan. The best time posted by Jöst/Scholze was the first fastest time for a Nissan in a session run by the ADAC GT Masters. Nissan has only been back competing full time in the Super Sports Car League since 2012.

Florian Strauss and Marc Gassner, the two winners of the German version of the GT Academy driver discovery/development programme in 2013 and 2014, took third place from the BMW Z4 GT3 of Jens Klingmann and Dominik Baumann (BMW Sports Trophy Team Schubert).

The two Audi R8 LMS ultras fielded by the title defenders of the driver and team standings, C Abt Racing, slotted into fifth and sixth place with Jordan Lee Pepper/Nicki Thiim and Andreas Weishaupt/Christer Jöns. Luca Ludwig and Sebastian Asch at the wheel of the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 (Team Zakspeed) took seventh place in the first practice of the season, finishing ahead of the fastest Corvette Z06.R GT3 with Patrick Assenheimer/Diego Alessi (Callaway Competition).

Another newcomer rounded off the Top Ten. Jeroen Bleekemolen and Luca Stolz in the Bentley Continental GT3 (Bentley team HTP) placed tenth behind the Audi R8 LMS ultra of Daniel Dobitsch/Edward Sandström (kfzteile24 MS RACING).
