Sebastian Asch (AMG-Team Zakspeed, Mercedes-AMG GT3): "I'm satisfied with our start to the weekend. We tried out one or two things in practice, but it won't be until qualifying, of course, that we'll really let rip. There's such an enormous amount of traffic here at the Sachsenring. Getting a completely clear lap here is like winning the lottery, but I reckon that Lamborghini and Audi will still come out on top."
Louis Delétraz (Schubert Motorsport, BMW M6 GT3): "That was my first outing in GT3 and in the ADAC GT Masters. We tried out lots of different things in our BMW. I posted quite a few laps, learning more all the time. The car is obviously quite different and much tougher to handle than anything I've ever driven in formula racing, but it's great fun. I'm looking forward to qualifying where we'll have to finish up front. There were no points today."
Rahel Frey (YACO Racing, Audi R8 LMS): "We're very satisfied. The Sachsenring is one of Philip's (Geipel) favourite circuits. He goes out on track here and gives it everything from the very beginning. I can obviously benefit from that as his team-mate. I myself also like the track. It's very demanding with many fast sections. It's better to stay on the throttle in many places, instead of easing off. You have to be very brave. This is a real home race for our team here, and it shows. The autograph hunters are all wishing us luck. That feels great and shows an appreciation of our team."
Christer Jöns (Bentley Team ABT, Bentley Continental GT3): "It's always nice to be quickest on the day, even more since this was the first best time in the ADAC GT Masters for Bentley Team ABT, which shows that we've been heading in the right direction. Of course, it won't get really exciting until tomorrow with qualifying and the first race. We are definitely optimistic and looking forward to Saturday."
Daniel Keilwitz (Callaway Competition, Corvette C7 GT3): "It went surprisingly well for us. We thought that the track would not really suit the Corvette, but we're doing OK, as the C7 has more downforce than its predecessor. It will be very close in qualifying - as we saw in the free practice sessions. Our goal is a place in the Top Five. Overtaking here is definitely easier than at Oschersleben."
Gerhard Tweraser (GRT Grasser-Racing-Team, Lamborghini Huracán GT3): "The car is running really well. We tried different set-ups and posted long runs. I think we'll be even faster in the race than in free practice and in qualifying. The Lamborghini is very strong on fast sections of track. A finish in the Top Three tomorrow in the race would be nice. I think our competitors will also up their pace. I'd be happy with a top-five finish."
Laurens Vanthoor (kfzteile24 - APR Motorsport, Audi R8 LMS): "Things aren't quite perfect yet. The last time I was here at the Sachsenring was seven years ago with Formula 3. This is not an easy circuit. You have to slowly feel your way around. Our team are doing well, but we're not yet where we want to be. There's some scope for improvement before qualifying."
