ADAC GT Masters: Comments after qualifying: What the drivers at the Lausitzring had to say for themselves

Robert Renauer (Precote Herberth Motorsport, Porsche 911 GT3 R), pole position for Race 1: "The whole weekend is going really well. We certainly knew that the track layout of the Lausitzring was going to suit us better than - for example - the Sachsenring, but a pole position is always something special and it's a great starting position for the race. We need to survive the start, which is not going to be easy. The Corvette next to us is very strong."

Patrick Assenheimer (Callaway Competition, Corvette C7 GT3-R), P2 Qualifying 1: "This is my best qualifying result in the ADAC GT Masters ever, so I am very happy about that. I think that we can get something out of this race, because the Lausitzring has been very good for me personally in recent years."

Rolf Ineichen (GRT Grasser-Racing-Team, Lamborghini Huracán GT3), P4 Qualifying 1: "I only discovered my grid position when I got out of the car. To qualify so far forward as a mere Trophy entrant is superb - I was surprised. My lap worked out really well, and I used the tyres to perfection. The lap after that didn't go quite so well. My thanks to the team who always put in the optimum performance."

Nicklas Mackschin (Schubert Motorsport, BMW M6 GT3), P18 Qualifying 1: "This is my second outing in the ADAC GT Masters. In 2015, we competed in the season finale at Hockenheim, but unfortunately only progressed 300 or 400 metres. Now I'm here again and I'm very pleased about that. It's a dream for me to be racing in front of a crowd as terrific as that for the ADAC GT Masters. I hope we get a bit further in the race than we did last time."

Dominik Schwager (Callaway Competition, Corvette C7 GT3-R), pole position for Race 2: "Of the three weekends so far, I would say that the Lausitzring has been best. At Oschersleben, everything was new, and at the Sachsenring, we had grip problems right from the start. But in the ADAC GT Masters, it always depends on getting a perfect lap on the timesheets - and that's what I've managed to do here. We already noticed in the free practice sessions that we have a very good basis, but it's difficult to predict where you're going to end up later. I had expected us to be somewhere among the Top Six or Top Eight. This has been a strong performance by the entire team. I now hope that Patrick (Assenheimer) and I can make good use of our favourable starting positions in the actual races."

Martin Ragginger (Precote Herberth Motorsport, Porsche 911 GT3 R), P2 Qualifying 2: "We showed the same form in qualifying as in the free practice sessions. We've found the knack of putting a fast lap together, and I think it's looking good for the race. I'm feeling very excited about the start of my race. Let's see if I can attack the pole-sitter before the first corner. The way our team has been developing in the run-up to the Lausitzring has been very much to my liking. So far we have always felt like underdogs, but here we are most certainly competitive."

Daniel Keilwitz (Callaway Competition, Corvette C7 GT3-R), P3 Qualifying 2: "That went well for me. Even so, I lost one or two tenths of a second on my fastest lap, because I had to overtake an opponent. Otherwise, I might have qualified even further forward. In the race itself, we now have to ensure that we convert this into a podium."

Claudia Hürtgen (Schubert Motorsport, BMW M6 GT3), P22 Qualifying 2: "It's nice to be here again. I still enjoy racing, although nowadays I'm mainly concentrating on my day job at BMW Driving Experience. I was really happy when Schubert Motorsport rang and asked me to drive the second BMW M6 GT3 at the Lausitzring. I support the team in whatever way I can."
