Daniel Keilwitz (Callaway Competition, Corvette C7), winner in general classification: "If you put your foot down at just the right moment in a flying start, you're always in with a chance of gaining some positions. This went perfectly for me today. But you also have to have a bit of luck with suitable gaps opening up. Before the driver change, I passed two more opponents and handed the car over to Jules [Gounon] in the lead. He then drove a clean stint right through to the finish. I'm especially pleased about this first victory for the new Corvette. The team has worked hard over the winter to get the car ready for the start of the season."
Philip Geipel (YACO Racing, Audi R8 LMS), runner-up: "Those were the most enjoyable closing 15 minutes of my career to date. The car went like crazy, and I overtook one opponent after another. I'm especially pleased about this podium, because we secured it in front of our home crowd. Last year, we had bad luck at the Sachsenring when we had to retire after getting ourselves into a good position. We've made up for that now with this second place."
Rahel Frey (YACO Racing, Audi R8 LMS), runner-up: "I had overheated my tyres a bit, but that's due to the high level of performance in the ADAC GT Masters. Then we had a perfect pit stop - that was the reason for our success. Philip overtook some opponents by outbraking them, and we also benefited from a few penalties incurred by others. It's great to be standing on the podium."
Florian Stoll (kfzteile24 - APR Motorsport, Audi R8 LMS), P3: "I was handed the car in second place, and I was thinking that I could comfortably finish the race in that position. But then the safety car came out and we went into that exciting final battle. Five laps in a tight bunch and the car was getting worse. I saw our opponents in my mirror and had to defend myself. That was really thrilling. Third place is a great result."
Laurens Vanthoor (kfzteile24 - APR Motorsport, Audi R8 LMS), P3: "The car was running well. However, I had a constant battle on the straights, because some of our opponents are quicker than us there. The last lap was ultra exciting. I think I must have aged five years. But Florian finished off well. Our second P3 in a Sunday race - if we could just improve our Saturday results a bit, this could turn out to be a good season."
Christer Jöns (Bentley Team ABT, Bentley Continental GT3), P4: "I did everything I could but still finished back in fourth place. Florian [Stoll] fought with all his might. That was a tough but fair fight."
Luca Stolz (GRT Grasser-Racing-Team, Lamborghini Huracán GT3), P5 overall, P2 in Junior classification: "We can be very satisfied with fifth place, considering our grid position. In the first stint, we sustained a minor bump. When I was in the car, I was involved in several scraps. The last two laps were very exciting. I didn't make any more mistakes."
Gerhard Tweraser (GRT Grasser-Racing-Team, Lamborghini Huracán GT3), P5 overall, P2 in Junior classification: "The start was a bit hectic. Then I tried to overtake an opponent, and another car rear-ended me. That cost me a few positions. We went flat out from the start. Luca [Stolz] also did a great job. The car ran superbly well all weekend. That gives us encouragement for what lies ahead."
Christopher Mies (Montaplast by Land-Motorsport, Audi R8 LMS), P7 overall, P3 in Junior classification: "Today was really difficult for us. We are not yet at the level where we would like to be. There is still a lot of work to do. First thing on Monday, we'll be doing some testing. But what ultimately counts is that we have consolidated our lead in the drivers' championship."
Connor De Phillippi (Montaplast by Land-Motorsport, Audi R8 LMS), P7 overall, P3 in Junior classification: "My stint was definitely the most exciting I have ever driven in the ADAC GT Masters. There was a lot of contact between the cars. I fought hard to defend my position. That was fun. Especially because there are so many cars from different manufacturers at the front of the field. It's good that we scored a few points and continue to lead the championship."
