Callaway offer rookies their big chance: Mauron and Hackländer to share Corvette cockpit

Callaway Competition are offering two young drivers the opportunity to drive their first race kilometres in the ADAC GT Masters. Lucas Mauron and Maximilian Hackländer will team up at the wheel of the number 31 Corvette C7 GT3-R. Mauron, an 18-year-old from Switzerland, has so far had twelve podium finishes in this year's Porsche Sports Cup.

"I'm really looking forward to the new challenge at GT3 level," said Mauron after completing a first test drive in the Callaway Corvette last week. Team boss Ernst Woehr praised the youngster: "Lucas impressed by virtue of his accurate technical observations and by his driving skills, despite the fact that there was a lot of traffic on the track that day. I'm pleased that he is going to drive for us, because I believe that this young man has a successful future in motor racing ahead of him."

His new team-mate Maximilian Hackländer, who is seven years older, already has GT3 experience acquired primarily in ADAC Zurich 24-hour races at the Nürburgring. Most recently, he drove an Audi R8 LMS in the 2016 ADAC Zurich 24-hour race, finishing in 14th place.
