Celebrity recruit ahead of ADAC GT Masters finale at Hockenheim: Stéphane Ortelli, who won the 1998 Le Mans race with Porsche, will drive an Audi R8 LMS entered by Montaplast by Land-Motorsport. Ortelli is making his debut appearance in the ADAC GT Masters, stepping in to cover for Frederic Verwisch who normally partners Christopher Haase. Ortelli ranks as one of the most experienced R8 LMS drivers on the racing scene, having competed in the mid-engine sports car since 2009.
Haase and Ortelli have a dual mission at Hockenheim: firstly to support team-mates and championship leaders Christopher Mies and Connor de Phillippi in their quest for the title, and secondly to boost the chances of Montaplast by Land-Motorsport in the ADAC GT Masters team championship. The Westerwald-based outfit go into the last weekend leading the drivers´, Junior and team standings.
Team principal Wolfgang Land is well aware of the exciting challenge that lies ahead at Hockenheim (30th September - 2nd October): "From nowhere to P1 would be a fantastic way to round off our first season in the ADAC GT Masters and with Audi. In our debut year in the Super Sports Car League, we have put in a convincing team performance. Our approach to these last two races will be respectful to the strong competition. Alongside the two title contenders Connor De Phillippi and Christopher Mies at Hockenheim, we have our second Montaplast Audi R8 LMS with starting number 28 driven by Christopher Haase and Stéphane Ortelli. With the situation in the table being so tight, we especially want to see fair and exciting racing."
