Grasser Racing are back in the ADAC GT Masters. After intermittent outings over the course of the past three seasons, the team led by Gottfried Grasser from Knittelfeld are now committed to contesting every single round of the 2016 Super Sports Car League. Based near the Red Bull Ring, Grasser have opted for the new Lamborghini Huracán GT3, a mid-engined V10 sports car in which they already caused a sensation last year. Making a guest appearance in their home race at the Red Bull Ring, the team recorded a maiden victory in a sprint race for the new Lamborghini at the first attempt. After treating the 2015 season as a test and development year with the Huracán GT3, Grasser Racing have been asked by Lamborghini to act as mentors to customer teams from around the world who will be racing the Huracán GT3 this year.
"I'm looking forward to this great challenge in 2016," says team manager Gottfried Grasser expectantly. "On the basis of our experience with the new Lamborghini Huracán GT3 last year, we are confident that we have a very competitive car. With all the race weekends and the Lamborghini customer support programme, we already have no fewer than 70 dates inked in on our calendar for 2016. We are extremely proud to have been chosen by Lamborghini for this important partnership."
Grasser have already signed Luca Stolz as the first of their two drivers for the 2016 ADAC GT Masters. After driving a Mercedes-Benz and a Bentley in the last two seasons of the Super Sports Car League, Stolz is about to make his third title challenge, boosted by two pole positions - one on the opening weekend and one in the grand finale - and a race victory in 2015.
