After six races without a win, Connor De Phillippi is back in the title race in the Junior standings. Along with team-mate Christopher Mies, the American won the second ADAC GT Masters race at the Nürburgring and the class for drivers under 25. Taking 25 points for the win, he overtook Corvette driver Jules Gounon, who finished out of the points after being forced to retire.
"After our bad luck on Saturday when we punctured, it's certainly wonderful to hit back with a win, for sure," said De Phillippi. "We've shown once again beyond any shadow of a doubt that we're ready to fight for the title this year. Just as I'm pleased with our personal triumph, I'm equally delighted with the team's maiden victory in the ADAC GT Masters and, of course, the new Audi R8's first success in this series."
Rolf Ineichen continued his impressive winning streak in the Trophy rankings for amateur drivers. The Swiss driver finished seventh in the Lamborghini Huracán in this second Nürburgring race along with team-mate Christian Engelhart. "I want to say a massive thank you to our team. They have worked really hard the whole weekend and prepared our car impeccably. We started from tenth on the grid and placed seventh after a clean race. More was not possible in this fixture."
