Third win in a row: Connor De Phillippi (Montaplast by Land-Motorsport) leaves Zandvoort with an impeccable haul of 50 points and his third consecutive victory in the Junior classification of the ADAC GT Masters. The 23-year-old was able to extend his lead to 22 points on his only remaining rival, Jules Gounon (Callaway Competition), in the run-up to the finale at Hockenheim in late September. Pure dynamite: This pair, along with their two respective team-mates, also have a tremendous chance of success in their fight to win the overall championship at Hockenheim.
"We scored decent points in a good race," said De Phillippi. "Those points will come into their own in the finale at Hockenheim, because the Corvette will be strong there. We have to be satisfied with our performance but would obviously have liked not to just finish on the podium for juniors. Still, we leave Zandvoort in the lead."
Jeroen den Boer (28, NL/Schubert Motorsport) took the win in the Trophy class and was delighted with his strong charge in the BMW M6: "Not bad, from 19th on the grid to ninth! When the rain came down, it was a toss-up between slicks and wet-weather tyres, but we stuck with slicks. And so, I'm now gradually getting used to the BMW M6. I was subsequently able to overtake more and more cars. I'm particularly pleased with my win in the Trophy class." Remo Lips extended his lead on Rolf Ineichen (GRT Grasser-Racing-Team, Lamborghini Huracán) in the Trophy standings to 14.5 points by securing another 18 points in Sunday's race.
