Karl Wendlinger will compete in the ADAC GT Masters, starting with the next race at the Red Bull Ring (22nd- 24th July). The former Formula 1 and DTM driver will line up for CarCollection Motorsport, sharing a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 in the Trophy class with Florian Scholze. Apart from their two Audi R8 LMS cars, CarCollection fielded a gullwing Mercedes previously in the races at Oschersleben and at the Sachsenring.

Mercedes-AMG brand ambassador Wendlinger will be making a guest appearance in the ADAC GT Masters Super Sports Car League in Austria but also plans to contest the remaining races until the end of the season along with Scholze. The outing at the Red Bull Ring is not Wendlinger's first in the ADAC GT Masters. He raced a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 at the Lausitzring back in 2012.
