Martin Tomczyk joins BMW team for Hockenheim weeke: Former DTM champion to line up for Schubert

This will be a repeat of the line-up for the season opener in April at Oschersleben when Finland's Jesse Krohn was partnered by Martin Tomczyk in a Schubert BMW M6 GT3. On that occasion too, the 2011 DTM Champion was standing in for the second regular driver Louis Delétraz. Krohn and Tomczyk scored points in both races with a P5 and a P8 finish.

"For us, the Hockenheim races bring to a conclusion a highly instructive season characterised by ups and downs," says Schubert team manager Timo Frings. "We've had some very difficult weekends, although things got better for us more recently at Zandvoort. It was clear to us right from the start that we would have a lot to learn about the BMW M6 GT3 in our first season with the car. And that's the way it turned out. We are very pleased to once again have Martin Tomczyk in our ranks. He brings additional sporting and personal strengths to our team."
