ADAC GT Masters·15.4.2016

Porsche pair take day´s best time: Renauer/Ragginger head fine mix of drivers among Top Four in practice

Drivers were again hard at work testing in the second free practice session of the ADAC GT Masters season opener. While the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben had been wet the whole time during the morning session, the tarmac began to quickly dry out in the afternoon sunshine, so times were faster by more than ten seconds as a result. Robert Renauer and Martin Ragginger (Precote Herberth Motorsport) went straight to the top of the class in the Porsche 911 GT R by posting the fastest time of 1.27.472 minutes.

Just one second covered the Top 19 cars. And so, fans can again look forward to seeing a highly competitive field on Saturday morning (9:25-9:45 am) when drivers get down to serious business in a twenty-minute qualifying session. Drivers will subsequently challenge for points in the races on Saturday and Sunday. SPORT1 will broadcast the races live at 1:00 pm on both days.

The top four on the timesheet in second free practice featured teams with supercars from four different manufacturers. Connor De Phillippi and Christopher Mies (both Montaplast by Land-Motorsport), whose Audi R8 LMS had posted fastest time in the morning, came home in second place. Defending champions Sebastian Asch and Luca Ludwig (both AMG - Team Zakspeed) posted the third-fastest lap in their Mercedes-AMG GT3. Fourth place went to the Lamborghini Huracán GT3 of Rolf Ineichen and Christian Engelhart (GRT Grasser-Racing-Team).

Positions five to ten were booked by the following drivers: Patrick Kujala and Miloš Pavlović (both Bonaldi Motorsport), Florian Stoll and Laurens Vanthoor (both kfzteile24 - APR Motorsport), David Jahn and Chris van der Drift (both KÜS TEAM75 Bernhard), Nikolaj Rogivue and Felix Rosenqvist (both AMG - Team Zakspeed), Peter Hoevenaars and Marc Basseng (both Montaplast by Land-Motorsport and Isaac Tutumlu-Lopez and Kelvin van der Linde ( both Car Collection Motorsport).
