RWT Racing going for continuity in 2016: Sven Barth and Remo Lips to share Corvette

RWT Racing will tackle the 2016 ADAC GT Masters season with the same driver pairing as last year and are going for continuity. Sven Barth (35, Germany) and Remo Lips (33, Switzerland) will share the drive in the Corvette Z06.R GT3 and attempt to achieve the objectives of the outfit from Eberbach.

"We're pleased with this driver pairing and think that it was the right decision to focus on the same drivers in 2016," said team boss Gerd Beisel. "We hope that we can improve further with Sven and Remo and move the team forwards."

Remo Lips intends to be out in front in the Gentlemen standings once again in 2016, aided by Sven Barth. Overall, the Swiss driver in P2 missed winning the 2015 title by the narrowest of margins. "We obviously hope that we can keep up in the new car. The most important thing, however, will be to improve performance in the qualis and to be very consistent in the races," said Lips. Team-mate Barth agreed: "If we can be consistently fast in qualifying, then we can expect to achieve quite a bit in the race as well. I think we can be confident as we line up."

RWT Racing made a name for themselves in 2013 at their first guest start in the ADAC GT Masters when team boss Gerd Beisel took a win in the Gentlemen class at his first attempt. The team have been regularly involved since 2014, achieving one overall win so far. "Our team has evolved into a proper unit in recent years," said Beisel. "We can tackle the tasks ahead on the basis of this level of trust. We hope to really do our bit in 2016. We're aiming for top-ten finishes in the races, in addition to winning the title in the Gentlemen category."
