Sylvest/Rogivue and Ineichen win special classes: Junior and Trophy classifications: One driver pairing and one familiar face

The Nürburgring weekend has been the highlight of the year so far for Nicolai Sylvest and Nikolaj Rogivue. After achieving their best qualifying result of the season with third place on the grid, the youngest driver pairing in the entire field drove the Mercedes-AMG GT3 fielded by Team AMG Zakspeed to a P3-finish in the first race. This performance was not only their best of the year but also gave them victory in the junior standings for drivers under 25.

"We're entirely satisfied with the result," said Swiss driver, Rogivue. "More was simply not possible. The two Porsches and the Mercedes in front of us were simply faster. There was always a small gap to the cars behind us at most stages of the race, so we were in little danger of losing our podium."

Rolf Ineichen once again won the class for amateur drivers. The Swiss driver made a strong charge up the field in the Lamborghini Huracán GT3 along with his team-mate from GRT Grasser-Racing-Team, gaining no less than 16 places as they pushed from grid position 24 to P8 at the finish line. This was Ineichen's seventh Trophy class victory from nine races.

"We have to be very pleased with this result," said Ineichen. "There were a few crashes in the race. We tried to stay out of all the incidents and were thus able to also benefit from some of our rivals retiring. Our pit stop went really well. Many thanks to the team. We gained a couple of places just in the pit stops."
