Team of Timo Bernhard enter the ADAC GT Masters: KÜS Team75 Bernhard joins ADAC GT Masters

The ADAC GT Masters will be joined by a famous new addition in 2016. KÜS Team75 Bernhard of sports car world champion and Porsche works driver Timo Bernhard and his father Rüdiger Bernhard at the helm will field a new Porsche 911 GT3 R in the Super Sports Car League. 27-year-old Kévin Estre has already been named as one of the two drivers for the Porsche team´s debut year in the ADAC GT Masters. The ADAC GT Masters will get the 2016 season under way on the weekend of April 15th-17th in the etropolis Motorsport Arena Oschersleben not far from Magdeburg.

After three successful years in the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany, KÜS Team75 Bernhard are branching out by joining the ADAC GT Masters. "GT3 racing is the future and represents the logical next step for us as a young team. I´ve been with Porsche for 17 years and so, am really pleased to have a strong partner at our side to assist us in our endeavours. In addition to our involvement in the ADAC GT Masters, we plan to go on lining up in the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany," said reigning Sports Car World Champion Timo Bernhard. He is one of Germany´s most successful racing drivers and was named ‘Motor Sportsperson of the Year´ in 2010 by the ADAC.

The newcomers from south-west Germany have already named one of their two drivers – Kévin Estre, who became a Porsche works driver in 2016. The Frenchman has an impressive record in the ADAC GT Masters: Two wins from four race starts.

After three successful years in the Porsche one-make cup, father and son team Bernhard will also be on a learning curve as they line up in the ADAC GT Masters this year. "The thing that I´m looking forward to most with our move to the ADAC GT Masters is the new Porsche 911 GT3 R, which is a thoroughbred racing car," said team boss Bernhard Rüdiger. "It will be a fresh challenge for us as a team, one that we are only too pleased to accept."

Team manager Klaus Graf is also keenly anticipating the challenge ahead: "We are very proud to be tackling this important milestone in the relatively young history of our team along with KÜS Team75 Bernhard. I want to express my thanks to our team partners, who have decided to join us in this venture. We are especially pleased that Porsche have placed their trust in us, and we must now make the best use of the period during the winter to get everything ready for the April season opener."

SPORT1 will again broadcast all ADAC GT Masters races live and in full on free-to-air TV during 2016. Germany´s leading sports broadcaster extended its contract up to and including 2017 well before the renewal deadline. The ADAC GT Masters will start the new season on the weekend of April 15th-17th 2016 in the etropolis Motorsport Arena Oschersleben.
