Six of the 14 races in the 2016 ADAC GT Masters have now been contested. The fourth race weekend of the Super Sports Car League takes place in Austria towards the end of July. In the meantime, the European Football Championship takes centre stage. Can world champions Germany do the double? Will France benefit from home advantage? Or might an outsider win it?
This is what a random selection of ADAC GT Masters drivers thought:

Of the 18 drivers asked, eight pick Germany as potential European champions. However, most of these are non-Germans. There does not seem to be lot of confidence in Jogi's squad among the German drivers. Lukas Schreier even fears that they will go out at the quarterfinals stage. Among the German contingent, Spain seem to be the favourites instead.
Even at the World Cup two years ago in Brazil, Belgium with their 'golden generation' of talented young players were seen by many as the dark horses of the competition, but they were eliminated in the quarterfinals. The same fate awaits the Belgians in Euro 2016, suspects Frédéric Vervisch: "We haven't performed well in the friendlies ahead of the European Championship. People always have incredibly high expectations of Belgium. Maybe the pressure is too great. I think we will be the country which surprises everyone for all the wrong reasons, namely by going out at an early stage."
Feeling more optimistic is Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky. The Swedish driver thinks her team will win the title because of one player: "Zlatan will get it sorted." She is referring to Scandinavian superstar Zlatan Ibrahimović. Someone else confident of his home team's chances is Daniel Dobitsch who thinks that it's Austria's turn to lift the trophy.
