Sven Müller (Precote Herberth Motorsport, Porsche 911 GT3 R): "We had to experiment quite a bit in both practice sessions today, as we initially had some problems with the setup. It eventually got better when we fitted some new tyres. But for qualifying on Saturday, we definitely need to find something else. I think that, at the Nürburgring, all cars will be very close together. It would be great if we could still manage to find another one or two tenths of a second. Essentially, this is a track that should suit the Porsche. You've got two long straights which the Porsche is really good on due to its aerodynamics. That's where we can gain the most time. In addition, there are fewer fast corners on which we lose time, so all in all it should be a good weekend for us."
Connor De Phillippi (Montaplast by Land Motorsport, Audi R8 LMS): "Because of our victory at Zandvoort, we're carrying 30 kilos of additional weight in our car. That makes a big difference here. But compared to the other Audis, we don't look so bad. We intend to improve the setup for tomorrow and then qualify as far forward as possible."
Marvin Kirchhöfer (Mercedes-AMG Team HTP Motorsport, Mercedes-AMG GT3): "I am satisfied with P2 in the second practice session. It's the first time I've driven a GT sports car here. The last occasion when I competed at the Nürburgring was in the 2013 Formula 3, so that's quite a while ago. The car feels good. The result gives us confidence, but of course there is no guarantee that it will run just as well over the next two days. But we have a good basis to build on."
Markus Winkelhock (BWT Mücke Motorsport, Audi R8 LMS): "The day went OK. You can't really work out where you stand, because you don't know what the other teams were doing. In the second session, we were sixth overall and also the fastest Audi. The car was not bad today. There are maybe two or three things that we could still do to extract more from it."
Philipp Eng (BMW Team Schnitzer, BMW M6 GT3): "Today was unsatisfactory. We are five tenths of a second adrift. I hope we can improve on this tomorrow. I know we have very good engineers and mechanics. But it's not going to be easy."
Emil Lindholm (ADAC NSA/Attempto Racing Team): "It's nice to be back at the Nürburgring. I like the track. I took my first pole position here in the Audi Sport TT Cup back in 2015. We were struggling a bit this morning, because the setup wasn't quite right. The second session went better, even though our position doesn't reflect that. But at the beginning of the session, we completed a lap in 1:29.10 minutes with new tyres and full tank. That's pretty good. The ADAC GT Masters is so incredibly tight. Ultimately, we were short of the best time by only one second, but that still put us down in 25th."
Rahel Frey (YACO Racing, Audi R8 LMS): "We are satisfied with the day so far. In FP1, we were eighth fastest, and we once again gained valuable insights. That may not have shown itself in FP2, however, because we were unable to use the new tyres. We know what we need to do to be even faster, and we hope that we can get that done tomorrow."
Albert Costa (Callaway Competition, Corvette C7 GT3-R): "The car is completely new to me and quite different from the GT cars I've been driving recently. I've worked closely with the engineers and the team to adapt the Corvette to my driving style, and we were successful in that regard. I felt increasingly comfortable in the car, which is apparent from our third place in the second practice session. I am pretty satisfied and I'm feeling confident about the races. The standard in the ADAC GT Masters is very high, and being so close to the top is just great."
