Christian Engelhart (GRT Grasser Racing Team, Lamborghini Huracán GT3), overall winner and winner in Trophy class: "What a fantastic race. We came really well prepared to Hockenheim and our car was faultless from the very first session. I posted a perfect lap in qualifying. In the race, I stayed with Philipp Eng until the driver handover when we tried to get past the BMW with an earlier pit stop. The undercut almost worked. Nick Catsburg didn't have the pace in the second stint of the race, so he held up those in pursuit. It's just awesome that Rolf was able to drive so carefully during the action-packed final segment of the race and secure this win for us."
Rolf Ineichen (GRT Grasser Racing Team, Lamborghini Huracán GT3), overall winner and winner in Trophy class: "I'm mega happy. I feel a bit sorry for Robert Renauer. He drove a great race and also deserved to win. I perhaps pushed a little too much at the start when I was trying to get past the BMW. As a result, the rear tyres degraded massively. It wasn't easy to keep the Corvette behind me, especially on the approach to the hairpin."
Daniel Keilwitz (Callaway Competition, Corvette C7 GT3-R), P2 overall and winner in Junior class: "We never expected to finish on the podium from 14th on the grid, but I took a lot of risks at the start and over the first two laps. I pulled it off, fortunately. I had a fresh set of tyres, so I knew that I could attack at the start. I handed the car over to Jules in fourth place. We won the team championship today and I finished second overall. We couldn't have done more."
Jules Gounon (Callaway Competition, Corvette C7 GT3-R), P2 overall and winner in Junior class: "When I took over the car, I didn't want to endanger Callaway's chance of lifting the team title, however, once victory was in sight towards the end, I made a move to overtake anyway. It didn't work out, but still, you learn from your mistakes. I had everything under control, though."
Christopher Haase (Montaplast by Land-Motorsport, Audi R8 LMS), P3 overall and P2 in Junior class: "There was some good racing today. I found it a little bit hard to defend myself initially. I struggled to find traction and so, tried to nurse the rear tyres. As a result, I couldn't hold back the Corvette. Things were better once I found my rhythm. We're quite happy with our third place to round off the season. The team gave us a great car. I'm very pleased to drive for this outfit."
Jeffrey Schmidt (Montaplast by Land-Motorsport, Audi R8 LMS), P3 overall and P2 in Junior class: "We achieved the maximum with P3. It's always nice to finish on the podium at the finale and head off on the winter break feeling pleased. I still managed to come second in the Rookie stakes, and that was our goal."
Mike David Ortmann, (BWT Mücke Motorsport, Audi R8 LMS), P5 overall and P3 in Junior class: "What a mega race! I had a great scrap with a Lamborghini but was able to defend myself well. He piled on the pressure, but I managed to counterattack again. This season finale was just awesome."
Frank Stippler, (BWT Mücke Motorsport, Audi R8 LMS), P5 overall and P3 in Junior class: "What a terrific end to the season. We've now completed our twelfth race together. This was the first one that ran smoothly. Something has always gone wrong up until now. I find it quite amusing to be the oldest driver on the Junior podium. I'm going to savour the moment."
Mathieu Jaminet (KÜS Team75 Bernhard, Porsche 911 GT3 R), P7 overall: "We got a few points again for seventh place after lining up in P8. The race was okay on the whole. We were a bit unlucky and were only 13th after the first lap. That was a tough race. I was able to overtake some cars during my stint. Eighth place in the championship is the best we could do. Ours is the best Porsche, which is also an important consideration. We've had a great season together even though it was tough every now and then. We dealt with everything that was thrown at us and can feel positive about our experience."
Michael Ammermüller (KÜS Team75 Bernhard, Porsche 911 GT3 R), P4 overall: "I had to take evasive action in the first turn and lost a few places, unfortunately. That ultimately cost us a better position at the finish line. It wasn't easy to push forwards at first, especially as I had a small problem with the car's balance during the first few laps, but then it settled down and things were better. I had to overtake a Lamborghini and moved forwards after that and posted good times. The pit stop was great, and Mathieu didn't make any mistakes either and went up a few more places. We have to be satisfied with seventh place in view of how the first lap went. Had we been further up the field initially, then we could certainly have finished three or four places higher up the rankings."
Christopher Friedrich (KÜS Team75 Bernhard, Porsche 911 GT3 R), P18 overall: "That was a very exciting race today. We started out from P24 on the grid. I gained a few places on the first lap and fought a bit. The speed was there. I think we achieved the maximum. It was a decent way to finish the season."
Maxi Götz (Mercedes-AMG Team HTP Motorsport, Mercedes-AMG GT3), DNF: "We'd had strong understeer since Friday that we just couldn't sort out. We lost an enormous amount of time when turning into the slow corners and couldn't attack. The Audi in front of me slowed so abruptly when turning off into the pits that I couldn't avoid it and gently collided into its rear-end."
