Team Precote Herberth Motorsport made an excellent start to the 2017 season at the 24-Hours of Dubai in early January. The two brothers, Alfred and Robert Renauer, shared a Porsche 911 GT3 R with Brendon Hartley, Daniel Allemann and Ralf Bohn and ultimately triumphed to round off the marathon race in the desert.

Robert Renauer, who will be contesting his fourth ADAC GT Masters season in his brother' s racing team this year, was particularly pleased. "We've been extremely successful this winter in both the Porsche Cup and in the 24-Hours of Dubai," said the 31-year-old. "We will do our utmost to be on top form again for the start of the season in April."

The ADAC GT Masters championship-winning team are still riding the crest of the wave with this latest success. Just one year after debuting in the ADAC GT Masters and winning the drivers' and team standings, the outfit from Niederdreisbach have now reached the next milestone with second place in the 24-Hours of Daytona.

Driving their Audi R8 LMS, Super Sports Car League champions Christopher Mies and Connor De Phillippi missed the win in the hard-fought GTD class by the narrow margin of just 0.293 seconds. The two top drivers were partnered by Jules Gounon and Jeffrey Schmidt in the long-distance classic in Florida.

Team Principal Wolfgang Land was full of praise for his squad: "This is our team's biggest success ever after winning the ADAC GT Masters championship, and I regard finishing this marathon in second place, just 0.293 seconds adrift after 634 laps, as a success."
