Comeback after a twelve-month break: Car Collection Motorsport will be contesting the ADAC GT Masters again in 2018. The team led by Peter Schmidt have opted for the Audi R8 LMS, and one of the V10-powered mid-engine sports cars has already been registered. At the moment, they are still in negotiations about entering further vehicles. Car Collection Motorsport’s most recent involvement in the ADAC GT Masters came in the 2016 season when they fielded up to three cars, including Audi R8 LMSs and Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3s.
The driver pairing for the already confirmed Audi R8 LMS GT3 will be announced at a later date. As for the other potential entries, discussions are still in progress with drivers and sponsors. Interested parties are welcome to contact team principal Peter Schmidt or team manager Denis Ferlemann.
Peter Schmidt: “After our failure to join the line-up for the 2017 ADAC GT Masters, we are all the more delighted to announce our comeback at this early stage. In the various series we contested this past year, we had twelve podium finishes, three of which were outright wins. That made it the most successful year in the history of our team, and we have every intention of carrying on in the same fashion.”
