Eng and Collard in BMW M6 GT3: BMW Team Schnitzer name drivers for first season in ADAC GT Masters

Team Schnitzer from Bavaria, who have already enjoyed a great deal of success, have now confirmed their drivers for their debut season in the ADAC GT Masters with the BMW M6 GT3. BMW Motorsport junior Ricky Collard will spend a full season competing in the ADAC GT Masters and will partner Austrian driver Philipp Eng. British driver Collard made his debut in the BMW M6 GT3 in February, racing in the 12-Hours of Bathurst in Australia with Nico Menzel and Jörg Müller, who mentors BMW's juniors in GT racing.

"It is great to be able to contest a full season in the ADAC GT Masters," said Collard. "I got a first impression of what the BMW M6 GT3 is like in Bathurst. The car is fantastic, and I'm especially looking forward to driving for BMW Team Schnitzer. They're a legend in racing, and it's a great honour to be able to drive for Charly Lamm's team along with Philipp Eng."

The 2017 ADAC GT Masters season kicks off on the weekend of 29th - 30th April with the first two races in Oschersleben. Schnitzer, Eng and Collard will have their first joint outing with the M6 during official ADAC GT Masters pre-season testing at Oschersleben on 11th and 12th April.

"The ADAC GT Masters offers fantastic racing at an extremely high level," said Eng, who raced in the series back in 2011 and 2012, driving first a Corvette and then a McLaren. "I'm delighted to be making my comeback in the BMW M6 GT3. My young team-mate Ricky is very quick. We definitely intend to create quite a stir, for sure! The fact that we'll both be lining up for Schnitzer is just the icing on the cake. They're legend!"
