Götz teams up with Assenheimer for title challenge: Maximilian Götz in 'Super Sports Car League' comeback

Maximilian Götz (31, GER) is back in the ADAC GT Masters. After two years in the DTM, the 2012 champion will this year be competing in the 'Super Sports Car League'. Maxi Götz's co driver in the Mercedes AMG prepared by Mercedes-AMG Team HTP Motorsport will be Patrick Assenheimer, who after three years in a Corvette will now contest his fourth ADAC GT Masters season in a car with the three-pointed star on its bonnet. The campaign opens on the weekend of 28th - 30th April at Motorsport Arena Oschersleben. All races will be broadcast live and in full on SPORT1.

"I am looking forward to returning to the ADAC GT Masters and working with Patrick," says Götz. "I feel sure that we will be contenders for the title. Adrenaline, power, precision, passion and team spirit - that's what motor racing is all about. Together with Mercedes-AMG Team HTP Motorsport, one of the most successful teams in GT3, we have all the ingredients for success. Our objective is obviously to score as many victories as possible." Mercedes-AMG Team HTP Motorsport are also making their return to the ADAC GT Masters.

The experienced GT3 driver Patrick Assenheimer has already contested 45 races in the series. Last year, he finished third overall in the Junior category and tenth in the general classification. "I'm looking forward to the upcoming year," says Assenheimer. "In Mercedes-AMG Team HTP Motorsport, I have an experienced and successful team to drive for, and in Maximilian I have an excellent partner. We will certainly boost each other's chances. With our car, we have the potential to be up there with the front-runners."
