Gounon (22, F, Callaway Competition) had already taken his maiden pole position in the Super Sports Car League earlier in qualifying. He and team-mate Daniel Keilwitz (27, DEU), who took over the cockpit of the Corvette C7 GT3-R at the half-way mark, managed to secure a comfortable lights-to-flag victory in the race. Gounon: "The Callaway team worked really well. The track is incredibly suited to the Corvette. It's almost as if the car were made for this circuit. I'm very happy. I had a great scrap with Lucas Auer to start with. It was a lot of fun. It felt just great, being able to keep him behind me."
Ricky Collard (20, GB) was second in the Junior rankings in the BMW M6 GT3 prepared by BMW Team Schnitzer. He finished third overall along with team-mate and local driver Philipp Eng (27, A). Mercedes-driver Luca Stolz (21, DEU, Mercedes-AMG Team ZAKSPEED) was the third best-placed junior.
Victory in the Trophy standings for amateur drivers also went to a Corvette with Sven Barth (36, DEU, RWT Racing). Barth started the race from P4 on the grid and handed over the Yankee sports car to team-mate Maximilian Hackländer (27, DEU), who kept his position at the finish line.
