The Callaway driver had already taken his second pole position of the year previously in qualifying. He defended his lead in the race until the mandatory pit box when he then handed over the car to team-mate Renger van der Zande. The Dutch local driver was standing in for Gounon's team-mate, Daniel Keilwitz, at Zandvoort, who had to miss the race due to an injury. Van der Zande again came under pressure in the final stages of the race from Kelvin van der Linde right behind him in the Audi, but ultimately, van der Zande was able to fend him off. Gounon has now further increased his lead in the standings for drivers under 25 years thanks to his hat-trick of wins in the junior class. The son of ex-F1 driver Jean-Marc Gounon took the unofficial title of 'half-time' champion in the overall standings by securing the overall win.
Local favourite Indy Dontje in the Mercedes-AMG GT3 prepared by Mercedes-AMG team, HTP Motorsport, took second place in the junior standings from fellow Mercedes driver, Luca Stolz (Mercedes-AMG Team ZAKSPEED). Stolz had been in second place during the first stint of the race, but he and his partner Luca Ludwig had to serve a drive-through penalty because of a pit stop that was too short, which dropped them down the field.
The win in the class for amateur drivers went to Lamborghini driver Rolf Ineichen, who moved up from 15th on the grid to take P11 after making a great start. His GRT-Grasser Racing team partner, Christian Engelhart, fought his way up into seventh place in the Lamborghini Huracán.
