Junior classification: Win for Audi driver Schmidt: Class victory for the Swiss racer making his ADAC GT Masters debut

The 23-year-old from Switzerland making his Super Sports Car League debut in an Audi R8 LMS entered by Montaplast by Land Motorsport enjoyed a lights-to-flag win in this particular classification. He was joined on the podium by Luca Stolz (21, GER, Mercedes-AMG Team ZAKSPEED) and BMW junior Ricky Collard (20, GB, BMW Team Schnitzer). No fewer than 17 of the current crop of ADAC GT Masters drivers are eligible for this separate competition for contestants under the age of 25.

"I am delighted with this win in the Junior class," said Schmidt. "I made good two places at the start, moving up from sixth to fourth. I maintained this position up to the pit stop. When I entered the pits, there was a hold-up due to a car that was returning to the track. Unfortunately, that cost us some time and the chance of third place in the general classification."

In the Trophy classification for non-pro drivers, Lamborghini man Rolf Ineichen (38, CH, GRT Grasser Racing Team) took the win ahead of Sven Barth (36, GER, RWT Racing) in a Corvette C7 GT3-R.
