Lips and Huisman to partner up in the Nissan: ADAC GT Masters trophy champion switching to MRS GT-Racing

The Japanese GT3 sports car will be driven by Remo Lips (34, CH), who won the ADAC GT Masters trophy category in the 2016 season, and by former DTM driver Patrick Huisman (50, NL).

Lips, who is now one of the veterans in the ADAC GT Masters, is about to start his sixth full season this year. He has always driven a Corvette apart from on one or two occasions. He is optimistic about his new vehicle: "I got a first impression of the Nissan during testing with the team in Hockenheim. The car suits me very well, and I've posted some fast lap times with it. I'm looking forward to the fresh challenge. It's a great honour to be lining up with Patrick Huisman."

The Lonsee-based team have signed a well-known second driver in the shape of former DTM driver and four-time Porsche Supercup champion Patrick Huisman. While the Nissan is new to him, the Dutchman is an old friend of MRS GT-Racing. He has already driven the McLaren MP4/12C for the team in the ADAC GT Masters as well as before that in the Porsche Supercup.

"We're very pleased to be lining up again in the Super Sports Car League this year. We've managed to acquire the services of an experienced pair of drivers, Remo Lips and Patrick Huisman, who should manage to pull off some surprise successes with our Nissan GTR, for sure! We've already successfully completed a test programme which went very well," said Team Principal Karsten Molitor.
