In Saturday's ADAC GT Masters race at the Lausitzring Motorsport Festival, Luca Stolz (21, DEU, Mercedes-AMG Team ZAKSPEED) won the junior class for drivers under 25 in the Mercedes-AMG GT3.
Stolz had secured pole position for the third race in the Super Sports Car League during qualifying. He defended P1 at the start and led the race until Lap 20 but dropped down the field after a contact while lapping a back-marker. The 21-year-old and team-mate Luca Ludwig had to settle for second place overall in the end. For Stolz, this was his first win this season in the junior championship.
Stolz: "We're delighted to have scored a lot of points as race runners-up. But it was actually quite obvious that we deserved the victory. We drove a faultless race but were unfortunately pushed off the track by an opponent."
Lamborghini driver Ezequiel Perez Companc (22, RA, GRT Grasser Racing) took second place in the junior standings from Indy Dontje (24, NL, Mercedes-AMG Team HTP Motorsport) in the Mercedes-AMG GT3.
Corvette driver Sven Barth (36, DEU, RWT Racing) was the new winner in the Trophy standings for amateur drivers after two victories by Lamborghini driver Rolf Ineichen (39, CH, GRT Grasser Racing Team) in the season opener at Oschersleben. The German had even been on course to take a podium in the overall rankings to begin with but fell back to P21 for a time after locking up and driving through the gravel bed.
