Maiden Junior class win for Perez Companc: Lamborghini driver victorious in both the general and Junior classes

Ezequiel Perez Companc (22, RA) driving a Lamborghini entered by GRT Grasser Racing took the honours in the Junior classification in the second of two ADAC GT Masters races at the Lausitzring Motorsport Festival.

Having qualified for pole position in the morning, the Argentinean and his co-driver Mirko Bortolotti went on to secure a comfortable lights-to-flag victory in the general classification. For Perez Companc, it was also a maiden win in the Junior class for drivers under the age of 25. “I am very happy,” said the 22-year-old. “This is my first victory with the team. Everything has worked out well today, and the team did a great job. Mirko’s first stint was mega – all I had to do was see that lead through to the finish. It’s a great feeling to have won here.”

Corvette driver Jules Gounon (22, FRA, Callaway Competition) took second place in the Junior stakes. The Frenchman, partnered by Daniel Keilwitz, staged a magnificent charge through the field. Having started from a lowly eleventh, they only narrowly missed out on a podium in the general classification. P3 in the Junior class went to Ricky Collard (20, GB, BMW Team Schnitzer) driving the only BMW M6 GT3 in the line-up.

Switzerland’s Rolf Ineichen (39, CH, GRT Grasser Racing Team) registered his third victory of the season in the Trophy competition for amateurs. He and Christian Engelhart (30, DEU) driving the second Grasser Lamborghini Huracán GT3 finished a strong third in the general classification.
