Mathieu Jaminet (KÜS Team75 Bernhard, Porsche 911), overall winner: "First the pole position and now the victory - that is just fantastic! A perfect way start to the season. Unfortunately, my race start was not so good. It's the very first time I've done a flying start, and I have some learning to do in this department. I lost one position and then concentrated on keeping the gap to Klaus Bachler constant. It was important to go easy on the tyres so that I would hand the car over to Michael in decent shape. We had a good pit stop and Michael moved up to P1. This win is a massive success for the whole team."
Michael Ammermüller (KÜS Team75 Bernhard, Porsche 911), overall winner: "You can't have a better start to the season than this. My team-mate put in a great first stint and handed the car over to me in second place. During the round of pit stops, I took over at the front and then succeeded in retaining a narrow lead. Due to the late safety car period, the pursuing pack came back at me again, but I had a good restart and I brought the car safely over the finish line to victory."
Klaus Bachler (Schütz Motorsport, Porsche 911), runner-up: "I got off to a very good start and took the lead on the first corner going around the outside. Because of the safety car deployments, the pursuing bunch kept closing the gap, but I had good restarts because I consistently aimed to keep the tyres up to temperature behind the safety car. I am very happy about this second place. We know where we lost the victory, namely at the pit stop."
Alex Macdowall (Schütz Motorsport, Porsche 911), runner-up: "I'm satisfied with second place. This was a good debut in the ADAC GT Masters. Unfortunately, because of a misunderstanding during the pit stop, I stalled the engine. That cost us the lead. I then concentrated on getting the car safely to the finish line. After the final safety car, unfortunately, there was a lapped vehicle between me and the race leader. That's why I had no chance to stage another attack."
Connor De Phillippi (Montaplast by Land Motorsport, Audi R8), P3: "That was a difficult race. Our car was not easy to drive. At the beginning of my stint, I was faster than the drivers ahead of me, but I couldn't get past. Consequently, we made an early pit stop. That paid off for us. Christopher had an open track ahead of him and put in some fast laps. He also overtook two cars and secured us the podium. Tomorrow, we'll go on the attack again."
Christopher Mies (Montaplast by Land Motorsport, Audi R8), P3: "We were never going to get more than third place today. We had a great pit stop, and that's how we managed to secure a place on the podium. Unfortunately, we didn't have enough to do more."
Christopher Haase (Montaplast by Land Motorsport, Audi R8), P5: "It's good to be in the Top Five in the first race of the season. Unfortunately, our pit stop didn't go well, because Jeffrey lost time due to another car. But I managed to make up for this. Ahead of me, though, there were two Audis, and it's difficult to overtake a car of the same make. In the final stage of the race, I just concentrated on securing fifth place."
Luca Stolz (Mercedes-AMG Team ZAKSPEED), P7 in the general and P2 in the Junior classification: "I had a great start, didn't get hit by anyone and moved up one place. But after that, we did not have any chance of progressing further forward. We had a good pit stop, but after that, we were only able to match the times of our opponents. We were missing something today. We will now analyse our data to see what it was."
Luca Ludwig (Mercedes-AMG Team ZAKSPEED), P7: "That was not an easy race. The front splitter was damaged, and I had vibrations in the car. Consequently, I didn't have enough downforce. I kept battling away, but there was no prospect of finishing any further forward. In fact, I had to defend my position towards the end. On the last lap, I made one last attempt to gain a position, but it didn't work out."
Rolf Ineichen (GRT Grasser Racing Team, Lamborghini Huracán), P9 in the general classification and winner of the Trophy class: "I got off to a very good start and made good some positions. It was a bit difficult to get into a rhythm because of the safety car deployments. We had a first-class pit stop and were hopeful of then making further progress. But unfortunately, that was not possible. We wanted to score as many points we could, and we managed to do that."
Christian Engelhart (GRT Grasser Racing Team, Lamborghini Huracán), P9: "We are satisfied, because our objective was to score points. It wasn't easy, though, because I didn't gain a single position in my stint. We ended up where we were after the pit stop. The team worked great. We did everything right."
Ricky Collard (BMW Team Schnitzer, BMW M6), P10 in the general and P3 in the Junior classification: "I had a good start but then got hit by a Corvette on the first corner and lost some ground as a result. But that's part of racing. It was my first GT race, and I'm constantly learning more. We then fought our way back into the Top Ten and won the Junior class as well as a bottle of champagne for the team."
Philipp Eng (BMW Team Schnitzer, BMW M6), P10: "The race was a lot of fun. I was involved in a lot of wheel-to-wheel action. It was sometimes hard, but always fair. Unfortunately, we fell back to 16th place. We then staged a good chase. Ideally, I would have liked the restart after the final safety car to have gone better, but it wouldn't have been possible to gain any positions without taking risks. That wasn't on, because we need an undamaged car for tomorrow so that we can go on the attack again."
