Paddock radar from the the Nürburgring: Stefan Effenberg at ADAC GT Masters for first time

Football visitor: Former member of German national soccer squad Stefan Effenberg called on Mercedes-AMG team ZAKSPEED this Saturday to wish Luca Stolz (22, DEU) in particular lots of luck. "It's great being at the ADAC GT Masters, because, who wouldn't be interested in fast cars and great racing?" said the UEFA Champions League winner from 2001. "So far, I've only ever visited Formula 1 before. Luca Stolz is part of the team from the marketing agency where I'm a partner, and we just wanted to come here to see him race." Stolz went out and immediately secured pole position for Saturday's race, in which he finished third with partner Luca Ludwig (28, DEU).

Motor racing visitor: Ex-Mercedes DTM driver Christian Vietoris also paid a flying visit to the Nürburgring to meet Lucas Auer (22, A, BWT Mücke Motorsport), who is currently third in the DTM and is contesting his second weekend in the ADAC GT Masters at the Nürburgring. He won Saturday's race along with Sebastian Asch (31, DEU).

Lucky mascot: Whenever Team Principal Timo Bernhard is at the track, his team secure a podium. The Le Mans winner, who also won the 6-hour FIA Endurance World Championship (WEC) race three weeks ago here at the Nürburgring, was at an ADAC GT Masters fixture for the first time since the season opener at Oschersleben to wish KÜS Team75 Bernhard luck. His drivers, Mathieu Jaminet (22, F) and Michael Ammermüller (31, DEU) promptly thanked him by achieving their second podium of the year since their win in the first race of the season.

VIP pundits: DTM champion record breaker Bernd Schneider and ex-Formula 1 driver and current ADAC Formula 4 team owner, Ralf Schumacher, were behind the SPORT1 microphone on Saturday to help out ADAC GT Masters commentator Patrick Simon as pundits during the first race.
