RWT Racing: Points are the goal: Team well prepared for season opener of the ADAC GT Masters

Following the official test days which took place in April at the same venue, Gerd Beisel's racing team are feeling optimistic as the season opener approaches. Their new driver pairing of Sven Barth & Maximilian Hackländer are confident that they will finish in the Top Ten at Oschersleben. "We collected very important and, above all, usable set-up data during the official test days," says Barth. "The main focus, however, was to put plenty of kilometres on the new car, which is extremely important, because we must continue to gather data and get a feel for the new Corvette C7 GT3-R. Its solid basic set-up obviously makes us feel optimistic, especially since we have Callaway Competition's excellent backup to rely on."

His team-mate, Maximilian Hackländer, fitted into the team well right away. "I'm pleased that it's now time to get started. We still don't yet know exactly where we stand after testing," says Hackländer, who has already gained some race experience with the Corvette C7 GT3-R. He drove the V8 racing car for the first time at the Hockenheimring season finale in 2016, but for Callaway Competition. "I'm hoping for a problem-free weekend for my first race in a full season. What will be paramount from the word 'go' is to gain more experience with the car. I would say a top-ten finish is our goal. These would be our first championship points."

After winning the 2016 Trophy, RWT Racing have set the bar even higher for the coming season. "I think we're well placed, and our outfit is highly motivated," says Team Principal Gerd Beisel.
