ADAC GT Masters·7.6.2017

Second BMW M6 GT3 joins Red Bull Ring line-up: Senkyr Motorsport in guest appearance

The third fixture of the 2017 Super Sports Car League will be contested by not one but two BMW M6 GT3s. The beefy GT3 sports car entered by the Brno-based outfit will be driven by Jakub Knoll (26, CZ) and Michael Fischer (21, AUT).

Knoll and Senkyr Motorsport first competed in the ADAC GT Masters back in 2015 fielding a BMW Z4 GT3. The Czech team had seven podium finishes in the Trophy category for amateur drivers, including a class victory at the Lausitzring. For Fischer, who comes from Mödling in Lower Austria, it will be a debut appearance in the ADAC GT Masters. At the end of May, the 21-year-old won the SP6 class in the ADAC Zurich 24-hour race at the Nürburgring.

"We took a last-minute decision to enter as a guest starter," says team principal Robert Senkyr. "We want to see how fast and competitive we are, especially as we are planning a complete international season in 2018. We are acquiring experience with the BMW M6 GT3 all the time. This will be our third race with the car. BMW Motorsport have been extremely supportive, which is helping us a lot as we make our first public outings. Our drivers Jakub and Michael as well as the whole Senkyr Motorsport crew are totally motivated. We are looking forward to next weekend."
