Second Junior class win for Stolz: Mercedes-AMG on pole

Stolz took his fifth pole position in the ADAC GT Masters qualifying. The 22-year-old dropped back down to third place at the start and defended his position until the driver handover. Luca Ludwig, his partner in the Mercedes-AMG GT3 prepared by Mercedes-AMG Team ZAKSPEED, subsequently achieved a podium finish at the chequered flag. Stolz placed third overall and secured his second win this season in the Junior class after his success at the Lausitzring.

Stolz: "I had to defend myself against the people behind me both on the inside and outside. Unfortunately, my tyres were cold, and I then braked a little too late and spun. I lost two positions as a result. Obviously, that should never happen. We would probably not have had a chance against the winning car, but we could have been second. I'm satisfied with my podium, but it's about time we won a race."

Audi driver Dennis Marschall placed second in the junior category after achieving the best result of his season so far in P4. Third place went to Corvette driver Gounon, who still leads both the Junior and overall standings.

Rolf Ineichen took his sixth win in the Trophy stakes. The Swiss driver lined up 21st on the grid in his Lamborghini Hurcán GT3 but had improved to P13 by the driver handover. His partner, Christian Engelhart, finally came home eleventh. While the two of them narrowly missed scoring championship points in the overall standings as a result, Ineichen was again the man to beat in the Trophy class for amateur drivers.
